PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani delegated on Thursday his advisor for cultural affairs to convey condolences to the family of the late architect Hisham Al-Madfai.
"On behalf of PM Al-Sudani, his advisor for cultural affairs Dr. Aarif Al-Saadi, conveyed condolences to the family of the late architect Hisham Al-Madfai, who passed away in London two days ago. Dr. Al-Saadi reaffirmed Prime Minister Al-Sudani’s commitment to honoring distinguished Iraqi figures and symbols worldwide," according to a statement by the PM Media Office - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
PM Al-Sudani directed the government to take responsibility for transporting the late architect’s body to Baghdad.
The late Hisham Al-Madfai was one of the most prominent figures in architecture and was known as the “Dean of Iraqi architects” until his passing at the age of 97.
