Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari discussed enhancing joint security and service cooperation with the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Mohammed bin Ali Koman, today, Wednesday. They stressed the importance of strengthening the foundations of joint Arab security cooperation.
A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari received the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Mohammed bin Ali Koman."
The statement added that "at the beginning of the meeting, the minister welcomed his guest and discussed with him a number of topics of common interest, to enhance joint security work and unify efforts in combating crime in all its forms."
Al-Shammari called - according to the statement - to "strengthen the foundations of joint Arab security cooperation and adopt common visions," stressing "the importance of concerted Arab security efforts to confront challenges."
For his part, Koman praised "the Iraqi security establishment, its history, and the great development it has achieved in its capabilities.
