Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament, MP Ahmed Al-Jubouri, confirmed today, Saturday, that Baghdad will host the Arab Parliament session in April 2025, noting that holding the Arab Summit in the capital next year also enhances Iraq's pivotal role in Arab and international issues.
Al-Jubouri told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The capital Baghdad will host the Arab Parliament session next April 2025, which will precede the Arab Summit in the capital Baghdad," indicating that "hosting the session and the Arab Summit enhances Iraq's pivotal role in Arab and international issues.".
Al-Jubouri pointed out that "Iraq, with its government, parliament and people, supports all Arab issues," explaining that "regarding the Palestinian issue, support for Iraq's proposal to establish a fund for the reconstruction of Gaza was indicated.".
Regarding the Syrian issue, Al-Jubouri explained that "the Arab Parliament affirmed respect for the will of the Syrian people to determine their fate through a political process under the supervision of the Arab countries, the Arab League and the Arab Parliament.".
He added that "the international silence regarding the Zionist crimes in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria was categorically rejected," noting that "the Arab Parliament supports the decisions of the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for the criminal Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Galant; for committing crimes against humanity.".
