PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani met on Monday, with a delegation from the President Jalal Talabani Foundation.
"The foundation is actively engaged in cultural and humanitarian fields and dedicated to preserving the legacy and archives of the late President," according to a statement by the PM Media Office - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The meeting highlighted "the life, legacy, and national contributions of the late President Mam Jalal Talabani, along with other Iraqi national political forces, in resisting the dictatorial regime and laying the foundation for a new Iraq based on constitutional principles, justice, and equality for all citizens."
PM Al-Sudani praised the historical role of the late president, describing him as "a true guardian of stability for the Iraqi people."
He emphasized the importance of preserving President Talabani’s heritage and archives while "acknowledging his and other national forces’ efforts in combating the oppression and crimes of the dictatorial regime."
The Prime Minister also called for enhanced collaboration between the foundation and other organizations and institutions to support its programs across Iraq and address challenges within areas of focus.
The delegation informed the Prime Minister that its activities include academic collaboration with a wide range of Iraqi universities, promoting the principles of peaceful coexistence and human rights, combating drug abuse, and advancing environmental protection.
They emphasized that "their efforts extend beyond the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to all provinces nationwide."
