Minister of Planning: Accurate population figures for each province to be announced soon

The Iraqi Minister of Planning, Mohammed Tamim, confirmed on Monday that precise population figures for each province will soon be announced.
During a press conference presenting the preliminary results of the general population and housing census, Tamim expressed deep appreciation for the extensive support and cooperation received throughout the process.

“We express our profound gratitude to Prime Minister Mohammed Shi'a Al-Sudani for his substantial support and diligent follow-up to the success of the general population and housing census project.”

Tamim stated. “We also extend our thanks to the Cabinet, religious and political sides, governors, local governments, security forces, and all personnel who contributed to the success of this significant project.”

Tamim emphasised that the current results are preliminary and These results will undergo further auditing and verification to ensure their accuracy and credibility. Upon finalisation, accurate figures for the population of each province will be made available.”

He further mentioned that the finalized figures will be delivered in an official envelope to the respective governors, who will then announce them as he is the head of the committee in the governorate concerned.”
