The Iraqi government welcomed, on Thursday, the issuance of two arrest warrants by the International Criminal Court against the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his former Defense Minister, Yoav Galant.

The official spokesman for the government, Bassem Al-Awadi, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Iraqi government appreciates the courageous and just position taken by the International Criminal Court, by issuing two arrest warrants against the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his former Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, based on an indictment that convicted them of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

" Al-Awadi added, "This historic decision confirms that no matter how much injustice persists and tries to continue, justice and truth will stand in its way and prevent it from prevailing in the world. The decision is also justice for the blood of the innocent and martyrs who have risen during the criminal war that the Zionist entity has been waging for more than a year in Gaza and Lebanon.

" Al-Awadi continued, "The Iraqi government, while applauding this major step towards achieving justice in all parts of the world, renews its calls to stop the war, and calls on all free countries to implement this decision and hand over the wanted persons to the competent courts to receive their punishment for the flagrant violations against humanity they have committed."
