The head of the State of Law Coalition Nouri al-Maliki, emphasized on Saturday the crucial role of tribes in enhancing security and stability.
A statement from the media office of the State of Law Coalition, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Al-Maliki met with the Council of Tribal Support in the holy province of Karbala, in the presence of MP Yasser al-Maliki and Karbala Deputy Governor Luqman al-Maliki."
During the meeting, Al-Maliki stressed "the pivotal role of tribes in enhancing security and stability," praising "the significant sacrifices made by the tribes in protecting Iraq and maintaining its national unity."
Al-Maliki explained that "tribes represent a fundamental pillar in facing the challenges that Iraq and the region are experiencing, whether on the security or social level," calling for "enhanced cooperation among various components of society to address common challenges."
He reiterated "Iraq's firm and supportive stance on the nation's issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination," affirming "Iraq's solidarity with Lebanon and the resistance forces in the face of Zionist aggression."
Al-Maliki pointed out that "Iraq will continue to support all efforts aimed at aiding oppressed peoples and defending their legitimate rights," calling for "strengthening national dialogue and Iraqi unity to overcome the current phase and move towards a better future."
