Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed today, Wednesday, that the forces that won the Kurdistan Regional Elections have another obligation, which is the understandings to form the government, expressing the federal government's readiness to work to bring the views of the various political forces in the region closer together.
The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pafel Talabani, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Qubad Talabani, during his visit to the city of Sulaymaniyah, which he arrived at this evening, Wednesday, as part of his visit to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq."
"Prime Minister offered his congratulations on the success of the electoral process in the region, and the results it reflected, which are expected to form a government that meets the aspirations of the region's citizens, and completes the understandings and cooperation to settle all files.
Al-Sudani pointed out, "The region is going through a critical turning point due to the continued Zionist aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, which requires exerting efforts and unifying the national ranks to confront the danger threatening the countries of the region."
For his part, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan praised according to the statement the position of the Prime Minister, which he described as neutral, and his support for the elections of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament of Iraq.
He stressed his full support for the federal government in various entitlements. Talabani stated, "his keenness to expedite the formation of the regional government; with the aim of implementing the understandings with the federal government," stressing, "supporting the efforts aimed at adopting a common vision between the federal government and the regional government with the aim of achieving balance and benefits in investing the oil wealth."
