The Directorate of Military Intelligence DMI announced on Monday arresting a gang that traffics and promotes drugs in Baghdad.
The Directorate stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "according to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to intensify efforts to combat the scourge of drugs and with a qualitative operation, a distinguished intelligence effort and continuous and high-level field follow-up by the heroes of the Military Intelligence Directorate, a criminal gang consisting of (4) felons who trade and promote drugs, transport and distribute narcotic substances in different areas of the capital, Baghdad, was arrested."
It added, "The felons were in possession of large quantities of raw narcotic substances prepared for distribution, sums of money, and motorcycles for transportation," noting that "the necessary measures were taken against them and referred to the judiciary to receive their just punishment."
