The commander of the eastern Salah al-Din Operations, Major General Ali Muthjal Al-Maliki, announced today, Sunday, security operations in Wadi Al-Shay and Al-Zarka, while indicating the arrest of 4 terrorists east of the province.
Al-Maliki told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Eastern Salah al-Din Operations Command and the units attached to it from the Popular Mobilization Forces and other security departments carried out security activities within the area of responsibility, in accordance with the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Joint Operations Command, with the aim of identifying the locations of terrorists and strengthening the security presence in the region."
He pointed out that "joint checkpoints were set up between the army, police and other security departments, which resulted in the arrest of four terrorists in the Daquq area."
He added, "The Eastern Salah al-Din Operations Command is carrying out continuous preemptive operations in the areas of Wadi al-Shai, al-Zarka, and the surrounding areas, in addition to the gaps between the areas of Eastern Salah al-Din and the neighboring regions," stressing that "these operations have yielded positive results, whether through the arrest of wanted persons or the discovery of remnants and old weapons belonging to terrorist gangs."
