The 26th Gulf Cup Championship draw resulted on Saturday in the Iraqi national football team being placed in Group Two along with the teams of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen.
The second group for the championship competitions included the teams of Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and the Emirates.
The draw ceremony began with honoring some of the coaches who succeeded in achieving the Gulf Cup title with their teams, including the late coach of the Iraqi national team, Amou Baba, the Kuwaiti coach Salih Zakaria, the Saudi coaches Muhammed Al-Kharashi and Nasser Al-Johar, and the Emirati coach Mahdi Ali.
A short documentary film was also shown about the Gulf Cup competitions in its previous edition - Gulf 25 in Basra - and the most prominent shots witnessed by the championship.
The championship competitions will start on December 21st and will continue until January 3rd, 2025.
Our national team won the title of the last edition of the Gulf 25 Championship, which was held in Basra, after winning the final match against its Omani counterpart 3 for 2.
