Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari confirmed on Sunday, that the law is applied to everyone, and we do not allow otherwise.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), The Interior Ministry “Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari met with the sheikhs and dignitaries of Dhi Qar province. At the beginning of the meeting, he conveyed the greetings and regards of the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to those present.”
He emphasized that “it is no secret that the reason for the development and prosperity of countries is the strength of security and its enforcement on everyone, and that respecting the law is one of the fundamental principles that we must all work on to advance all areas of life. From here, our pride in this province is great for what it represents in terms of historical depth and honorable stances.”
The minister pointed out that “the Ministry of Interior believes that the law must be applied to everyone and does not allow otherwise. There should be no uncontrolled weapons, armed conflicts, tribal conflicts, road blockades, or assaults on state institutions, as these will not bring stability, development, and a decent life to the province. Instead, they will pose a significant obstacle to the progress of your province, which is exactly what those who engage in such illegal and unlawful behaviors want.”
He also noted that “Dhi Qar is characterized by its well-known tribes that extend across all provinces, and we therefore invite the honorable sheikhs to make their gatherings a platform for awareness, guidance, advice, and the establishment of justice.”
According to the statement, he also listened to “a number of interventions from those present, who affirmed their support for the security forces and the enforcement of the law to enhance stability in Dhi Qar province.”
