President of the Republic: Diagnosing the waste of public money is a national task that requires a serious and firm stance

    President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed today, Tuesday, that diagnosing the waste of public money is a national task that requires a serious and firm stance.
     
    The Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - that "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received today at the Baghdad Palace, Chairman of the Integrity Commission, Muhammad Ali Al-Lami, and blessed his assignment to the position."
     
     The President of the Republic stressed - according to the statement - that "everyone is waiting for the Commission to take effective and correct steps to preserve public money through legal and constitutional procedures," noting that "diagnosing the waste of public money is a noble national task that requires a serious and firm stance from all oversight agencies and bodies, foremost among them the Integrity Commission."
     
     
     
    The President of the Republic called for "the adoption of comprehensive and integrated national plans and programs in which all official and societal activities have an active role.
     
    The statement also called for enhancing cooperation and coordination with countries of the world in order to extradite wanted persons and recover Iraq's funds abroad."
     
    For his part, Mohammed Al-Lami reviewed "the Commission's future plans and programs," appreciating "the President's support for the Commission's work and efforts to achieve transparency."
     
    It stressed "the importance of the Presidency's support for the Integrity Commission in its efforts to combat the corrupt, recover Iraq's funds, and preserve national wealth."
