Al-Maliki stresses the importance of the role of Arab political forces in confronting Zionist arrogance

    Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, stressed today, Wednesday, the importance of the role of Arab political forces in confronting Zionist arrogance. 

    The media office of the head of the State of Law Coalition stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, received in his office today the new Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq, Maher Salem al-Tarawneh. At the beginning of the meeting, al-Maliki welcomed Ambassador al-Tarawneh, wishing him success in his new mission as his country's ambassador to Baghdad. In turn, Ambassador al-Tarawneh conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II to the head of the State of Law Coalition. They also discussed regional and international developments and the Zionist aggression on Lebanon and Palestine." 

    The head of the State of Law Coalition stressed - according to the statement - that "Iraq has close relations with brotherly Jordan in various fields," calling for "strengthening and developing them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples." 

    He pointed out, "Iraq's adherence to its positions in support of oppressed peoples, and holding the international community responsible for the heinous crimes committed by the usurping Zionist entity against the brotherly Lebanese and Palestinian peoples," noting, "the importance of the role of Arab political forces and the Arab and Muslim popular position in confronting Zionist arrogance, and for governments to support the steadfastness of the resistance forces in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Iran." 

    Al-Maliki explained, "Iraq is keen to deliver humanitarian aid to Lebanon in light of the difficult circumstances suffered by the brotherly Lebanese people." 

    For his part, the Jordanian ambassador stressed, "The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's keenness to enhance cooperation with Iraq in various fields, reflecting the depth of historical ties between the two countries."

    He expressed, "appreciation for Iraq's efforts in supporting Arab issues, especially in light of the challenges facing the region," stressing, "Jordan's readiness to enhance joint coordination in a way that serves mutual interests and contributes to achieving regional stability."
