Min. of Commerce reveals smart Rations card

The Ministry of commerce revealed details of the smart electronic Rations card, due to be implemented in the coming time. Ibtihal Hashim; Director General of the Planning and Follow-up Department in the Ministry said to Ina: “The smart electronic card will include family members’ names, the stock of ration card items, and food materials available with the food agent. The card will enable citizens to know the items to be distributed and their share of them”.

She indicated that the Smart Card Project came in collaboration with the World Food Organization, after they presented technical and logistic support for the success of the project, which will ease the citizen’s visits to the Ministry departments and food agents.
