The Ministry of Planning announced on Sunday, the completion timeline for the numbering and inventory process related to the population census, highlighting that this phase will create a comprehensive database detailing the number of buildings, homes, and facilities.
Spokesman for the ministry, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "fieldwork for the numbering and inventory began earlier this month and will continue until the end of next month."
He further explained that "the numbering and inventory phase is a critical and penultimate stage that precedes the automated population census," noting that "this process will generate vital data regarding the number of buildings, homes, facilities of all types, households, and their members."
As part of the census plan, the Ministry aims to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection, which will assist in planning and implementing development projects across the country.
Al-Hindawi confirmed that "the number of researchers assigned to carry out the numbering and inventory task is 30,000 field researchers deployed across all provinces." He also mentioned that "an additional 80,000 will be trained by mid-October, bringing the total to 120,000 field researchers who will execute the census on November 20 and 21."
