The Ministry of Interior announced on Friday, the arrest of an accused person in possession of 43 bank cards prepared for smuggling in Najaf.
The spokesman for the Interior Ministry and the Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "In continuation of the efforts of the Border Forces Command to thwart attempts to smuggle currency, the detachments of the Najaf Airport Customs Police Station, affiliated with the Fifth Region Customs Police Directorate, seized an accused in possession of (43) bank cards of various types filled with sums of money prepared for smuggling."
The statement added that "a formal seizure report was prepared and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities."
