The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, revealed on Tuesday the key details of a precision strike operation targeting ISIS leadership in the Anbar Desert, underscoring significant gains in Iraq's air defense capabilities
. Maj. Gen. Rasool stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Under the direct orders of the Commander-in-Chief and following meticulous intelligence work, our forces launched a coordinated operation in Al-Hazimi area, east of Wadi Al-Ghadhf, deep within the Anbar Desert. Intelligence units successfully tracked and detected the terrorist elements whereabouts within this remote region
." He continued, "This operation was executed with pinpoint accuracy and in close coordination with the Joint Operations Command, leading to the neutralization of 14 terrorists, including high-ranking ISIS leaders and suicide bombers. Our forces also seized vital documents and specialized equipment belonging to the terrorist group
." General Rasool stressed, "These operations inflict severe damage on ISIS’s operational capabilities, leaving them no safe haven within Iraqi territory. Our intelligence efforts will persist, and we will continue to hunt down and eliminate every remaining threat
." Earlier, the Joint Operations Command (JOC) reported the successful elimination of 14 terrorists, some equipped with explosive belts and hand grenades, during a series of airstrikes followed by an airdrop of mobile units, conducted in collaboration with the international coalition.
The JOC confirmed that among the dead were key leaders of ISIS, alongside the complete destruction of their hideouts, weapons, and logistical support. Additionally, several explosive belts were detonated and critical documents and communication devices were seized
