In a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Assem Jihad, the spokesman for the Ministry of Oil, stated that "Haitham Al-Ghais, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), arrived in Baghdad on a two-day visit."
He clarified that in addition to enhancing and broadening the scope of cooperation within the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and OPEC Plus, the visit falls under the framework of bilateral communication on developments in the oil market.
"The itinerary of al-Ghais' visit includes a meeting with the oil minister and a number of officials," Jihad noted.
