Iraq's National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, held discussions with Iraq's Ambassador to Brussels, Ahmed Tahseen Berwari, regarding Iraq's participation in the first round of high-level partnership dialogue with NATO
. The Iraqi embassy in Brussels told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Ambassador Berwari received National Security Advisor al-Araji and his accompanying delegation at the embassy. The delegation included the Prime Minister's advisor and representatives from the Ministries of Defense, Interior, and Foreign Affairs. The visit is part of Iraq's involvement in the inaugural session of the high-level dialogue for partnership with NATO”
. During the meeting, Ambassador Berwari provided a detailed overview of the key issues being addressed by Iraq’s mission in Brussels and the topics set to be discussed with NATO. Additionally, they discussed the meetings planned on the sidelines of the visit with the European Union and relevant Belgian authorities

The military representative of Iraq to NATO also attended the meeting, underscoring the importance of military and security cooperation between Iraq and NATO in enhancing regional stability and security. The embassy emphasized that this visit and the upcoming meetings present an opportunity to strengthen Iraq’s cooperation with NATO and the European Union, highlighting Iraq's growing role as a partner
