Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Futoshi Matsumoto confirmed on Monday that he discussed with PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani the project of converting waste into energy.
"Today I had a very enjoyable discussion with PM Muhammad Shia al-Sudani on the regional situation and bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Japan. I applauded the positive and constructive role of Iraq on the current regional situation, particularly including Gaza, and conveyed that Japan would also continue to work with regional stakeholders for peace and stability," said Matsumoto on his blog on X - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He included, "Regarding bilateral relations, I touched upon the progress of works at Basra FCC Refinery, the importance of Japanese Yen Loans for future projects in Iraq, and the technology of Hitachi Zosen Inova for Waste-to-Energy Project in Baghdad. We fully agreed that there would be certainly more to do between Japan and Iraq."
