The member of the Iraqi Football Association, the official spokesman, "Ahmed Al-Moussawi", the deputy head of the Iraqi delegation present in Basra, confirmed that the condition of the player "Ayman Hussein" has improved and stabilized after he suffered a severe injury at the beginning of yesterday's match against the Omani national team in the final qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
A statement by the Football Association, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the player Ayman Hussein was immediately transferred to the hospital in Basra after the end of the Iraq and Oman match, where it later became clear that he had suffered a bruise in the chest that led to internal bleeding that required surgical intervention.
Hussein was transferred to Kuwait to complete treatment, accompanied by the head of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, and the Iraqi ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Al-Manhal Al-Safi, as they are following with great interest the health condition of the player "Ayman Hussein" on an ongoing basis through their direct presence with the medical team in one of the hospitals in Kuwait."
