The Security Media Cell (SMC) announced on Sunday, the participation of the Army Aviation and the Air Force in the security plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, while indicating that the pilgrimage plan is flexible in terms of movement, and includes securing the borders, ports, and pilgrim.

The head of the cell, Major General Tahseen Al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Al-Jazeera Operations Command, through the Seventh Division and the efforts of the Military Intelligence, carried out operations in which some hideouts containing weapons and equipment were found,” indicating that “this falls within the preemptive plans that also enter into the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) because the desert has a connection between the Anbar Operations Command and the holy Karbala desert."

He continued, "The government's implementation of a large number of roads and bridges will serve pilgrim in their transportation operations," noting that "a very important and flexible plan has been put in place for transportation and in preparing transportation areas, and this is very important for transporting pilgrim."

He continued, "We have a great intelligence and security effort and axes in this field and air surveillance and numbers by the army aviation and air force with continuous meetings and continuous work around the clock."
