Apple is working to make Apple Maps available to drivers and travellers who use devices not manufactured by Apple. For example, Apple Maps is now available for online beta for use on Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers by those using a Windows computer, according to the Phonearena website.

Apple may have plans to develop an Apple Maps app for Android according to auto evolution, the latter says that the tech giant may be working on an Android version of Apple Maps and the app will help Android users put Apple Maps on par with Google Maps and allow it to be a navigation option for around 3.9 billion Android users worldwide.

Despite this update, Google Maps still has a useful feature over Apple Maps, and even the upcoming iOS 18 update doesn’t add any amazing new capabilities to the app. For example, in iOS 18, tapping the “plus” button next to a location name in the Apple Maps list adds the destination to a new library list. This feature is called Saved Places.

Once you save a location, you can write a personal note about the place that will appear every time you search for the destination in Apple Maps.
