In addition to announcing the creation of 80 health centers across all governorates, Health Minister Saleh al-Hasnawi revealed on Sunday that 100-bed hospitals would be built in 16 provinces.
"One of these projects is the establishment of hospitals with a capacity of 100 beds in 16 provinces, and for each governorate there is a hospital," Al-Hasnawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA). "The ministry has a number of projects in various provinces, and it is part of the government program that emphasized health justice by distributing health services as evenly as possible among all provinces."
Noting that "the ministry also has projects for specialized centers and a number of oncology centers and heart centers in the provinces, in addition to other services," he continued, "the ministry also has hospital projects under construction and work is underway, as well as waiting this year to complete the inclusion of 80 health centers in various provinces for the purpose of expanding the base of primary health care centers."
According to al-Hasnawi, "the ministry is working to expand the health base, which also includes the provision of equipment, supplies, and medicines."
