Chinese President Xi Jinping and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon agreed today, Saturday, to comprehensively strengthen the synergy between the two countries' development strategies.
"The two sides agreed to focus on high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, comprehensively strengthen the synergy between the two countries' development strategies, and help each other in their modernization drive," Xi said at a joint press conference with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon after talks during his visit to Tajikistan.
"China is willing to import more high-quality products from Tajikistan, and continue to upgrade the quality and expand the scope of China-Tajikistan economic and trade cooperation," Xi said. "The two countries agreed to continue to deepen cooperation on connectivity, and support Tajikistan in tapping more potential in enhancing transit transportation".
Rahmon said. "The visit of the Chinese president is an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations, which will inject new strong impetus into the development of the Tajikistan-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era," he added.
