British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conceded defeat in the general election on Friday and acknowledged that the opposition Labour Party had won.
Sunak said, "I have called Sir Keir Starmer to congratulate him on his victory." He added that he will take responsibility for the loss, and he said that he is "sorry."
He continued, "I will now head down to London, where I will say more about tonight's result before I leave the job of prime minister, to which I have given my all."
