Lieutenant General Walid Khalifa Al-Tamimi, the commander of operations in Baghdad, declared today, Wednesday, that the security plan for Eid Al-Ghadeer had been successful.
"The special security plan prepared by the Command to ensure protection for holy places, places of worship, and public and private places during the days of Eid al-Ghadeer and the public celebrations that take place during it, succeeded without reporting any notable incident," according to a statement provided by Al-Tamimi to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
In regards to the steps taken and the security forces' participation, he continued, "the plan received great cooperation and welcome from the citizens regarding the provision of a safe and stable environment for carrying out various events and activities."
