The General Company for Iraqi Airways announced on Thursday, the completion of all required preparations to begin the return of pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the homeland.
The company’s general manager, Manaf Abdel Moneim, said in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Based on the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, an integrated plan has been prepared that will be implemented as of Friday, June 21, 2024, when two reverse flights will be operated to the two airports Baghdad and Najaf Al-Ashraf International.
The statement continued, "Among the aspects that the company's management was keen to pay attention to within the plan for return for the Hajj season 1445 AH is the allocation of wide-body aircraft to carry out return flights, in addition to intensifying efforts to provide the best services to the pilgrims of the Holy House of God," noting, "there is high coordination with the authority the Supreme Council for Hajj and Umrah, the Saudi side, and other supporting parties to prepare and facilitate procedures related to the reverse transfer of Iraqi pilgrims."
