The Ministry of Transportation reported today, Friday that a magnitude earthquake (4.1) degree southeast of Khanaqin in the province of Diyala was recorded.
"Seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake on Friday morning, in Diyala province," the ministry said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
According to the observatory's report, the earthquake had a magnitude of (4.1), and occurred 34 kilometers southeast of Khanaqin in the Diyala province at 08:54:11 am local time.
The ministry asserted, "There has been no proof that the citizens felt the impact and that there were no notable losses of either material or human nature."
