Lieutenant General Abdulameer Rashid Yarallah, Chairman of the High Committee for Ending the Mission of the International Coalition and Chief of the General Staff of the Army, stated on Sunday that the High Committee for Ending the Mission of the International Coalition in Iraq continues its efforts to set a timeframe for ending the mission of the international coalition in Iraq, and emphasized that the International Coalition is serious about this matter and that the decision will be made before the meetings of the bilateral committee in Washington.
Lieutenant General Yarallah, who chairs the High Military Committee, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The Iraq-America High-Level Committee continues its efforts to end the mission of the international coalition, and held two meetings with international coalition forces in May." He added, "The committee is currently focusing on determining the timeframe for ending the coalition's mission."
Yarallah stated, "The committee continues consultations, and there is a serious intention to determine the timeframe for ending the mission of coalition forces." He also said, "There are some difficulties, and these difficulties will shape the determined timeframe."
Yarallah said, "The decision to set a timeframe for ending the mission of the International Coalition is made before the next bilateral committee meetings in Washington."
Chief of General Staff Yarallah stated, "As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the instruction to end the mission of the International Coalition and transition to sustainable bilateral relations was taken not only with the United States but also with other countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and even Iran and Turkey, for the purpose of maintaining security."
