At the Ministry's headquarters in Baghdad, the US Under Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Ms. Ozra Zia, along with her delegation, were received by Ms. Evan Faiq Jabro, Minister of Migration and Displaced.
They talked about ways to improve the chances for cooperation in all areas and shared files between the two countries during the meeting.
The mechanism for closing the camps and guaranteeing that every displaced person returns to their original place of residence in a way that maintains their dignity, as well as strategies to assist the returnees in compliance with the relevant ministerial plan, were also discussed during the meeting, per the Prime Minister's directives.
Along with discussing the file of the displaced people of the Syrian Al-Hawl camp, the meeting also saw a discussion of providing all the necessities for a decent living for returning families and including them in income-generating projects.
The US Under Secretary of State, for her part, commended the government's efforts to put an end to the problem of displacement, guarantee the safe return of families, and supply all the necessities for a respectable living for every returnee.
