Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Patrick Durel, on Tuesday. The discussion focused on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and expand cooperation in various economic and development fields.

“Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted Iraq's openness to productive partnerships with French companies, especially in contributing to the reconstruction of infrastructure and enhancing the defensive capabilities of the armed forces,” stated the Media Office of the Prime Minister in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency-INA.
“The cooperation includes technological upgrades in the military sector through signed contracts, notably with the French company Thales,” the statement further mentioned.

The meeting also addressed regional developments and the ongoing aggression in Gaza. Prime Minister Al-Sudani stressed the importance of the roles of international organizations and the global community to prevent the genocide of the Palestinian people and to deter further massacres against civilians, warning of the potential for the conflict to spread and cause more instability in the Middle East.
