Karbala Criminal Court issued, on Sunday, a life sentence against a drug dealer for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances.
Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council – SJC stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the convict was seized in possession of (3) kilograms of the narcotic substance methylamphetamine with the intention of trafficking and selling it among users, in addition to an electronic balance and a glass ampoule”.
The statement added that "the sentence was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 28/I of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances law No. 50 of 2017".
