A government approach to cooperate with international companies in the fields of military and environmentally friendly industries

    Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, confirmed today, Saturday, the government’s endeavor to open horizons of cooperation with companies participating in the Security, Defense and Military Industries Exhibition held in Baghdad, to arm the armed forces and security services, while Toyota Iraq indicated its participation in supporting the government’s directions for environmentally and friendly industries to enhancing safety and security specifications in cars within cities.

    Al-Shammari told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on the sidelines of the activities of the Security, Defense and Military Industries Exhibition in its twelfth session at the Baghdad International Fair: “Such exhibitions enhance the process of exchanging experiences and are a gateway for the government to open new horizons with participating companies in the possibility of arming the armed forces and Iraqi security services with the latest Weapons and technologies.

    During his tour of the pavilions of the participating countries and companies, the Minister was briefed on the most important exhibits and the latest military and advanced devices and equipment in the field of armament and military equipment. The participating companies provided an explanation of the most important achievements, industries and inventions.

    In turn, the President of Toyota Iraq, Sardar Al-Bibani, confirmed in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “We held more than one meeting with the Minister of Interior to support the government’s directions in providing cars that support the environment, and Toyota is known for its cars that operate with environmentally friendly hybrid technology, and we participate in supporting this the government’s decision, which obligated state departments to move towards the acquisition of hybrid cars that rely on electricity for operation and gasoline, but the latter to a lesser extent, as is known".

    He added, "An integrated study has been prepared to produce cars with great durability and power, with high levels of safety and security, and at lower operating costs, meaning that we will contribute to supporting the state's trends in increasing safety levels in cars within cities."

    He continued, "Protecting humans and the environment is everyone's responsibility, and hybrid cars contribute to reducing the amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and thus supporting the government's efforts to reduce the effects of pollution and climate change."
