The Ministry of Oil announced today, Thursday, a movement to increase refining capacity in Iraqi refineries, while indicating that important steps have been achieved in the gas investment file.
The ministry’s spokesman, Assem Jihad, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Among the ministry’s plans is to work to increase the refining capacity in Iraqi refineries,” noting that “there is careful follow-up of the refineries and the addition of new units to increase production and transform from an importing country to a self-sufficient country and this issue comes gradually.".
He pointed out, "Important steps have been achieved in the gas investment file, as the continuous follow-up by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani with officials has led to reducing problems in this regard," warning that "those steps lead to accelerating achievements in the oil file."
