General Electric: We plan to enter into new maintenance agreements with Iraq with the goal of generating 9,000 MW

    General Electric confirmed on Thursday that it intends to implement digital technology in energy production, outlining its benefits, and that it will enter into long-term maintenance contracts with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, yielding an estimated productivity of 9,000 megawatts.
     
      "The company is in the process of agreeing to conduct long-term maintenance with the Ministry of Electricity to secure a production capacity of 9,000 megawatts of the company's gas units located in Iraq," said Rashid al-Janabi, the director of the company in Iraq, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA). He added that "the agreement with the Ministry of Electricity will add great momentum to investment and the establishment of monitoring, control, and diagnostic centers to sustain the system and raise its efficiency."
     
    Along with the introduction of digital technological solutions, he continued, "there is continuous work to raise the production efficiency of the systems and make optimal use of the available fuel to raise the production capacity of the highest possible capacity of the units." "The agreement will also include the establishment of a training center to develop technical competencies, leadership capabilities, and cadres working in the Ministry of Electricity," he said.
     
      In order for production units to achieve the maximum production capacity possible, he stated, "the introduction of digital technology will enhance and raise production capacity and increase the efficiency of units."
