The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid,, on Sunday, called on political forces and parliamentary blocs to elect a new speaker of Parliament.
The President of the Republic, said during the official celebration on the centennial anniversary of the first parliamentary council establishment , followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA ):"Iraq is at the forefront of the countries that founded a constitution and was at the time the most developed and democratic in terms of principles and establishment, guaranteeing rights and freedoms”.
He added that "Iraq emerged from totalitarian regimes era, after the people rejected the dictator injustice in more than Uprising, where it was faced with repression and extermination until Iraq land was filled with martyrs bodies , resulting in a democratic system embodied in the Constitution of 2005".
He stressed that" as political leaders and decision-makers, we must complete the creation of institutions stipulated by the Constitution, foremost of which is the Federation Council in order to make our democratic experience a success ",calling on "political forces and the Parliament to speed up the election of a new speaker of Parliament, to complete and legislate laws that serve e homeland and Citizen”.
