PM stresses the importance of Basra and the advantages at all levels

    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed today, Saturday, the importance of Basra and the advantages it enjoys at all levels.

    The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani met with the Governor of Basra and his two deputies, the Chairman of the Provincial Council, his two deputies, and members of the Council, as part of his visit to Basra, which he arrived on Saturday morning.".

    Al-Sudani pointed out "the importance of Basra and the advantages it enjoys at all levels," indicating that "advancing Basra's situation does not fall solely on the responsibility of the local government, but rather is a federal matter, because the development and prosperity of Basra is important for all Iraqis." .

    He stressed that "understanding and cooperation as one team is the prelude to the success of local governments," stressing "the importance of cooperation between ministries and the governor.".

    The Prime Minister stressed "the importance of moving to the most important step represented by the economic renaissance of Basra," noting "the Al-Faw port projects and the development road that have received regional and international attention.".

    He pointed to "the Basra-Shalamcheh line for transporting passengers and the importance it poses to the governorate, which requires that all plans and work programs be commensurate with the importance that Basra enjoys today.".

    Al-Sudani touched on "the importance of enhancing educational opportunities throughout the country, as the private sector, through the Iraq fund for development, will undertake the construction and maintenance of schools.".

    He pointed to "the security challenges in Basra," stressing that "the local government's support for security personnel will contribute to enhancing stability, which represents an important indicator to encourage investors.".

    He stressed "the necessity of communicating with the people of the governorate and identifying their problems and addressing them."
