The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security (DGIS) announced on Saturday, the capture of an ISIS member in Babylon, while it arrested an antiquities dealer and another accused of kidnapping in Baghdad.
“With careful field follow-up and through accurate intelligence information, the detachments of the Babylon Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense, arrested a member of ISIS terrorist gangs through a controlled ambush in the Alexandria district an arrest warrant was issued against him in accordance with Article (1/4) of terrorism, which is one of the most prominent goals of the Directorate,” A statement by the directorate received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated .
On the other hand, “detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated with the same directorate, were able to arrest two wanted persons on charges of antiquities trade and kidnapping in Baghdad,” noting that “one of them was caught red-handed while selling an antiquity, and the accused were handed over to the authorities fundamentally competent.”
