Iraq and France stress the need to strengthen joint cooperation in security and military fields

    Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, stressed today, Wednesday, the necessity of strengthening joint cooperation in the security and military fields between Iraq and France.
     
     
    The Joint Operations Command stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, received Pilot Lieutenant General Thierry Garita, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Army for French Operations, accompanied by Major General Michel Del Pett, Commander of the French Special Forces, and the accompanying delegation.”
    The meeting held by the two parties at the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command included discussing the prospects for joint cooperation in the security and military fields and supporting, training and building the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.
    According to the statement "The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations and the French delegation also discussed the distinguished historical relations between the Iraqi and French sides."
      "The two sides praised the long history of these relations and their repercussions at all levels, also stressed that there is a common desire, bilateral cooperation and continuous work to formulate and complete the signing of the bilateral security memorandum between Iraq and France. They also praised what was achieved at the level of joint air exercises and the efforts of the French side in training, and preparing the desert regiments.”
