Al-Sudani Receives the Regional President of Visa in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed today, Thursday, the Regional President for Visa in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Mr. Andrew Torre, along with his accompanying delegation.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, today, the regional president of Visa for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Mr. Andrew Torre and his accompanying delegation."

Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized that the government has prioritized economic and banking reform and is eager and open to cooperation in this field. He highlighted the Council of Ministers' approval of the Electronic Payment Regulation.

Al-Sudani commended the company's cooperation in expanding electronic payment technology and digital transformation, whether through training workers in Iraq or contributing to the education on electronic payment processes.

The Regional President of Visa in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa Mr. Andrew Torre expressed Visa's commitment to collaborating with the Central Bank of Iraq and other banking institutions to advance electronic payment systems and support economic and banking reforms. He emphasized Visa's readiness to introduce advanced solutions and technologies to the Iraqi market, provide expertise, increase local employment in Baghdad, and expand electronic payment points to 500,000 in Iraq.
