The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring confirmed today, Thursday, that the country will be affected by an air depression extending from the Red Sea.
A statement by the authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “the weather for next Saturday will be partly cloudy to cloudy, accompanied by light to moderate rain, with occasional thunderstorms that begin at dawn in the western sections, then include the rest of the regions successively, and continue at intervals.” For the next day, with temperatures similar to the previous day,” indicating that “the winds will be southeasterly, light to moderate, at speeds (10-20) km/h.”.
The authority added, "Next Sunday, the northern region will witness partly cloudy to weather with scattered light rain falling, while the central and southern regions will have cloudy weather with light to moderate intensity rain falling in (Salah al-Din, Baghdad, Anbar, Babylon, Karbala, Diyala, Wasit, Diwaniyah, and Najaf al-Ashraf). And Amara, Samawah, Nasiriyah, and Basra).
The authority also continued, "The weather will be thundery at times, and the weather will gradually improve in the afternoon, with moderate southeasterly winds ranging between (20-30) km/h, and temperatures will be a few degrees lower."
