The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received, today, the Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and his accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of enhancing joint cooperation in all fields and developments in Iraq and the region. Al-Halboosi stressed Iraq's keenness to strengthen and develop its economic, trade and investment relations and its efforts to build balanced international relations based on respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs. H.E. called on the State of Qatar to contribute to the reconstruction campaign and activate the investment side with Iraq, stressing that the parliament seeks to provide all facilities through laws and legislation that would create a safe environment for investment. He also called for giving priority to employ Iraqi manpower within the Qatari investments planned to be established in Iraq. With regard to the anti-terrorism file in Iraq and the region, al-Halboosi stressed Iraq's prominent role in the elimination of criminal Da’esh gangs on behalf of the world through the sacrifices made by the Iraqi security forces to defend the security of the entire region and liberate the country from extremist terrorist groups. For his part, the Qatari foreign minister affirmed his country's readiness to open all horizons of cooperation and strengthen the historical friendship with the Iraqi government and people.
