The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, directed Today, Friday, Iraqi Airlines to return Iraqi passengers stranded in Saudi Arabia, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Al-Saadawi directed the General Company for Iraqi Airlines to return Iraqi passengers stranded in Saudi Arabia, in coordination with the relevant authorities to facilitate the procedures for returning them to the homeland, in a way that guarantees their safety and dignity.”
Al-Saadawi stressed, according to the statement, “the necessity of devoting all capabilities and efforts and accelerating the preparation and organizing of the process of returning them in coordination with the external offices of the airlines.”
It is noteworthy that "the return of dozens of Iraqis traveling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of Fly Baghdad flights, on which the US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions, has been suspended."
