National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji confirmed on Monday, that Iraq does not allow its territory to be used as arena for attacking any country.

Al-Araji received the head of the Turkish Intelligence Service, Ibrahim Gulen, and his accompanying delegation, according to the media office of the National Security Advisor statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The meeting discussed the latest security developments in the region, especially the continuation of the war in Gaza and its dangerous repercussions, as well as the continuation of security and intelligence cooperation between the two countries, in a way that enhances the security and stability of the region.

Al-Araji stressed "the importance of growing and developing the relationship between Baghdad and Ankara in accordance with the principle of mutual respect for sovereignty," noting that “all problems can be solved via dialogue and diplomacy, as long as the intentions are sincere,” stressing “the necessity of creating a security system among the countries of the region to exchange security and intelligence information, achieve greater stability and avoid crises.”

With regard to the war on Gaza, Al-Araji explained that “expanding the circle of war may drag the region and the entire world into a conflict that undermines the security and stability of countries," stressed Al-Araji adding, "Iraq does not allow its territory to be used as a starting point for attacking any country, and that Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani repeatedly stresses the importance of good-neighborly relations and respect for sovereignty between Iraq and its neighbors, and not allowing relations to be disturbed."

In turn, Gulen stressed that his country views the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Iraq just as it views the unity and sovereignty of Turkey," noting that "the security of Iraq and Turkey is one," while expressing Turkey's support for Iraq in the areas of combating terrorism, drugs and trafficking humans, in addition to cooperation on the water file through the joint committee between the two countries, indicating that the presence of Labor Party militants harms the security and stability of the two countries.”
