Al-Sudani Meets the President of the Republic

The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid. The meeting covered discussions on the overall general situation in the country, addressing political, security, and economic issues. They emphasized the necessity of unifying efforts to solidify and maintain the achieved security and stability.
 
The Prime Minister reviewed the outcomes of his participation in the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland. He discussed the meetings he held with the heads of participating delegations and international financial institutions, aiming to strengthen Iraqi relations and consolidate joint cooperation in a manner that serves mutual interests.
 
The meeting addressed security developments, emphasizing the violations that Iraqi cities and territories face, posing threats to sovereignty and stability. They agreed that the Iraqi government holds the authority to enforce the law and implement measures to safeguard security and sovereignty, ensuring the safety of citizens.
 
They emphasized the crucial support for the government in executing its program, particularly in enhancing public services, improving citizens' living standards, advancing the reform agenda, and curbing corruption. This approach aims to foster an environment conducive to investment, encouraging the private sector to actively participate in the country's construction and reconstruction efforts.
 
The discussions also underscored the imperative to address shared matters between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq in alignment with the constitution and the law. A key focus was on resolving the matter of salary payments for employees in the Kurdistan Region, ensuring their rights and sustaining their livelihoods.
