Al-Mandalawi: Estonian companies to benefit from the Iraqi investment environment

    Acting Speaker of the Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, called on Tuesday, the Estonian companies to benefit from the Iraqi investment environment and contribute to the reconstruction and development of the private sector.

    Al-Mandalawi received the President of the Republic of Estonia, Alar Karis, and his accompanying delegation as a number of MPs attended to discuss developments in the situation in the region and a number of common interest files, according to a statement by the media office of Acting Speaker of the Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    Al-Mandalwai highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between Baghdad and Tallinn in various fields, especially at the economic, agricultural, service and cultural levels, in addition to benefiting from Estonia’s expertise in the e-government aspect, to enhance anti-corruption efforts. 

    He called for “taking advantage of the Iraqi investment environment and investing in facilities which the government offers to investors to contribute to the reconstruction of the country and the development of the private sector, in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly peoples.”

    In turn, the Estonian President expressed his country's keenness to develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries, stressing that "Iraq has begun to regain its health and status, as well as its role as central in reducing tensions and bringing peace."

    The two sides agreed on the "necessity of concerted efforts of the international community in a way that contributes to strengthening the foundations of stability in the region and the world.”
