Al-Sudani Receives an Official Invitation to Visit the Netherlands

    An official invitation to visit the Netherlands was received by Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani on Monday.
     
    Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency INA that “Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received the Dutch Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Hans Sandee.  During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them were reviewed.”
     
    The statement read “the Prime Minister highlighted in the meeting Iraq's openness to diverse forms of partnership and collaboration across various fields.”
     
    “There was a specific emphasis on activating the joint council for water between the two countries, and the significance of the Netherlands assuming leadership of the NATO Mission in Iraq in mid-May was underscored,” the statement made it clear.
     
    Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated according to the statement, “Iraq's vision regarding the mission of the Global Coalition Against Daesh in the next stage; this involves joint technical collaboration to successfully conclude the mission and transition towards bilateral security and military cooperation.”
     
    The statement further stated that “Ambassador Sandee on his part, extended an official invitation to the Prime Minister from the Dutch Prime Minister, Mr. Mark Rutte, for a visit to the Netherlands; clearly indicating that the purpose is to explore additional opportunities for partnership between the two countries and convey the Dutch government's aspiration to enhance cooperation.”
     
    “The Ambassador highlighted the positive relations between the Netherlands and Iraq and expressed the interest of Dutch companies in participating in Iraqi development programs and infrastructure reconstruction,” it clarified.
