Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani presided over the sixth meeting of the New Sadr City project.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),”In the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Sudani declared that the primary infrastructure for the entire project will be ready for implementation this month the project will unfold in three phases, and specialized international companies will be nominated to initiate the construction of housing units in the first phase.”
The Prime Minister reviewed the outcomes of the soil testing procedures, ensuring their completion as previously directed. This step is vital for ensuring work safety and commencing the construction process. Additionally, he oversaw the execution of prior directives related to the transfer of ownership for lands allocated for construction.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized that the New Sadr City project stands as a vital project in Baghdad, integral to the government's strategic initiatives alongside the establishment of five new cities. This collective approach aims to address the housing crisis and usher in a transformative change in Iraq's urban housing landscape.
The meeting delved into the progress of implementing the power station dedicated to supplying electricity to neighborhoods, residential complexes, and urban areas within New Sadr City.
